Zoom applications update regularly, approximately once a month.  To ensure Zoom meeting security and availability of the latest meeting tools, you will often need to update your Zoom application.

Updating Zoom on a Windows or Mac computer

Open the app, click your profile picture in the top right corner, and select Check for Updates from the menu. If an update is available, Zoom will download and install it. Then click Update or Install and restart the app to complete the process.

Updating Zoom will close the desktop app, install the new version, and reopen Zoom at the sign-in window.

For more information, visit Zoom’s support page: Updating Zoom to the latest version (support.zoom.com).

Checking for available Zoom updates on a Windows computer

1. Open the Zoom desktop app. Signing in is not required.

2. Click the arrow icon on the taskbar.

3. First, right-click the Zoom icon. Then click Check for Updates.

If an update is available, the Zoom desktop app will download it. Otherwise, you’ll see a message saying You are up to date, meaning you already have the latest version.

4. After the update has been downloaded, click the Install button.
