Creating credentials by means of authentication

Please note, you can only create credentials and add roles through a web browser, not through the Wilma mobile app.

If you do not have credentials for Omnia’s Wilma service:

1. Use your browser to navigate to 

2. Under the profile icon (icon below), you can change the language of the website.

3. Enter your e-mail address in the field and click “Send verification”. The e-mail address you provide will be your Wilma username.

4. A verification e-mail will then be sent to the e-mail address you provide. Click the link in the message. If you do not receive a verification e-mail, check your spam folder. If you cannot find the message anywhere, please contact

5. Select the relevant school where your dependant is studying and click “Next”.

6. Complete the authentication by clicking “To the identification”. You can identify yourself using your online banking credentials or mobile ID, for example.

7. Under the “I have…” heading, select guardian data available through Digital and Population Data Services Agency and click “Retrieve person”.

8. Select the child by clicking “Valitse” (Select). After this, click “Vahvista ja jatka asiointipalveluun” (Confirm and proceed to service).
9. Once you have returned to Wilma, you can add other dependants who are studying in the same institute, as necessary. If all the desired roles are shown under the Roles heading, click “Next”.
10. You will then see your identifying information, as received from the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Click “Next”.

If there are errors in any of the information, please correct the details in the Population Register and complete the authentication again. You cannot correct information received through the authentication process directly in the student administration system.

11. Create a password for yourself for logging in to Wilma. Enter the password, which must meet the complexity requirements, in both fields. Then click “Next”.

12. Check the details and click Create username. You can then log in to Wilma at

The username is your e-mail address and the password is the one you set for yourself.
